View Header

There are buttons for controlling displays in the [View Header] on the top of each view.

View change

When the title of a 3D view is clicked, the following menu will be shown. It switches a perspective view and an orthogonal view and also changes a view angle. In the three orthogonal views, it switches perspective, orthogonal, top, front, left, bottom, back and right views.

[Capture and save] saves the displayed image to a file or a clipboard.

Point/Line/Face

When the buttons are mouseclicked, points, lines or faces are shown or hidden.

When you mouseclick the buttons with Shift key, only the element of the button is shown.

Simple

When the simple button is on, patches, blobs and so on are displays as simple shapes.

When you mouseright-click on the button, a menu will be shown. You can select the target to display simply.

Front

When the button is on, only the front side of vertices and lines are shown.

ON OFF

You can specify the opacity of backside of lines when the front option is off in [Display > Line > Back line opacity] in Configuration.

Display

It selects display options for a view.

For each view

XY/YZ/ZX plane
It displays the XY, YZ, or ZX plane as a mesh on the 3D view. When you mouseclick the icon, you can execute [Set Grid].
Scale
It displays a scale by a constant interval on the X, Y or Z axis. When you mouseclick the icon, you can execute [Set Grid].
Axes
It displays X, Y and Z axes.
Symmetry plane
If [Edit Option > Sym] is available, [Symmetry plane] is displayed. This plane is the reference plane of symmetric edit.
Background image
It specifies whether to display a background image in the view. When you mouseclick the icon, you can execute [Set Background Image].
Alpha
It selects from [Disable] or [Enable], [Correct depth] how to display semi-transparent objects. Objects on the backside may be not displayed in the [Enable] mode when the semi-transparent objects overlap multiple in the depth direction. [Correct depth] displays them correctly, but it is available only in Direct3D 11 display.
Textures
It specifies whether to display textures.
Smooth shading
It specifies whether the display a surface of an object smoothly. It can show the surface of the object smoothly. It delays a little to show.
ON OFF
Lighting direction/color
It specifies whether to apply lights' direction and color for displaying faces. When this check is off, only one light is applied. When you mouseclick the icon, you can execute [Lighting Settings].
Shadow (only EX edition)
It specifies whether a shadow is displayed or hidden. The shadow can be displayed in [Direct3D 11] only.

Clip plane (only EX edition)
It is to switch ON/OFF clipping display.
When clipping display is available, objects are displayed only one side with the clip plane as the boundary.
One side with the clip plane
as a boundary is hidden.
The position of the clip plane is specified in [View > Clip plane] command.
View Panel
It can numerically input a direction and a position of the camera, clipping and shadow parameters, and can initialize the viewpoint. You can also change the target view in [Target]. When you choose this menu with pushing the shift key, the viewpoint is initialized without showing the dialog.
Reset
It restores the view state to the initial one.

For all views

Show only faces in a current object
It shows only faces in a current object.
Show line of uncurrent objects
It specifies how to show vertices and lines of objects excluding a current object.
Normal It shows vertices and lines with the assigned color to the object.
Dark It shows lines by the color specified in [Display > Color > Dark] in Configuration.
Hidden It hides vertices and lines.
Show selected parts only
It shows the selected vertices and lines only, and hides the unselected part.
Lines overwrite faces
It always shows vertices and lines overwrite faces without considering for the z-order.
Show back faces by force
It shows back side faces in red.
ON OFF
Highlight open edges
It highlights lines that are not shared by other lines.
ON OFF
Show subdivision wires
It displays or hides subdivision wires.
ON OFF
Display unit (only EX edition)
It selects the display unit from [None], [mm], [cm], [m], [km], [in] and [ft].
Renderer
It selects the rendering method from [Direct3D 9], [Direct3D 11] and [OpenGL]. Please see details in Preview.

Synchronize

Operations in the view header on each view (Point/Line/Face /Simple/Front display, view scaling, view move) are synchronized.

Zoom

When you mousedrag this icon, the view is scaled.

This operation is same as the mousewheel rotation in the view.

Move

When you mousedrag this icon, the view is moved.

This operation is the same as the mousemiddle-button dragging in the view.

Rotate

When you mousedrag this icon, the view is rotated.

This operation is same as the mouseright-button dragging in the view.

Layout

You can select the view layout.

And you can also add a current view layout as a new item by [Register current layout]. The registered layout can be deleted by mouseclicking the icon.

Single view / 4 views

It switches the display to a single view or 4 views.
