Layout

Language

It selects a language. You can select either Japanese or English.

Texture

It selects textures used by GUI such as buttons, frames and so on.

UI size

It sets the size to display buttons, menus, texts and so on. The size is specified from Small, Normal, Middle, Large, Huge and custom.
When [Auto DPI adjust] is active, the UI size is automatically adjusted by the Windows DPI setting and the monitor's DPI.

Font

It selects a font used by buttons and so on. The layout may be broken when you select a font except for the default font.

Fixed font

It selects a font used by Script editor and so on.

Command panel

Alignment

It selects the alignment of a command panel.

Show a side scroll bar

It shows a fine scroll bar by a command panel and scrolls when a command panel cannot fit lengthwise in the screen. (Even if it is not shown, scroll can be done if you drag the corner of a command panel.)

Status bar

It selects the alignment of a status bar. A status bar shows how it works according to the situation.

Panel

Synchronize panels with moving the main window

It specifies whether panels are moved together or not when the main window is moved.

Save the position and size of the main window

It selects to record the position and the size of main window when you end Metasequoia and selects to return to the same status when you start up next time.

Display

Color

It selects the color of each part.

[Object] is used for the default color of newly made objects afterward and it has nothing to do with existing objects.

Hue offset for GUI

It sets an offset of a hue for GUI colors.

GUI color preview

Each GUI is displayed by using the setting colors and an offset when this value is on.

Color map

It is the setting for the color used in weight display of [Bone], colorize thickness of [Measure], distortion display of [UV Edit], etc..

Size

Point size

It sets the size of the vertices n the view.

Line width

It sets the width for displaying lines. This width is applied for Direct3D 11 only.

Line

Back line opacity

It specifies the line opacity that shows in the back of the face.

0.25	0.5 (Default)	1.0

The backsides of lines are displayed or not displayed by [Fr] button in view header.

Show texture smoothly

When the texture is shown in a quite large size because of the zoom of the viewpoint, it makes the rough shape inconspicuous. It sometimes becomes dim.

Anti-alias

This specifies whether to use anti-alias. It makes a jag of a line not noticeable.
It is necessary that the GPU supports an anti-alias display.

Maximum resolution of textures

When the mapping image is larger than resolution, it automatically scales down. This can save the consumption of video memory. There is no change in image data itself except the display becomes rough.

When a normal map is specified in the [Bump] mapping of a material, the direction of the bump is reversed.

File

Folder of mapping bitmaps

It selects where to put the folder which controls mapping bitmaps.

Susie (32bit version only. Not support in 64bit version)

When you select the folder which stores plug-ins for Susie, Susie plug-ins become available for loading image files.
The image read through Susie plug-in cannot be edited and saved in 3D Paint.

File path

It selects how the file path for a mapping image is specified. [Auto], [Absolute path] or [Relative path] can be selected.

File

A number of items of [Latest files]

It specifies a number of items displaying in [Menu > File > Latest files].
If [Show all format] is unchecked, only MQO/MQOZ files are displayed on the list.

Auto back-up

It copies the file in the selected folder every time the file is saved.

Max size(GB)

When the size of the specified folder is reached the specified upper limit, show the message. If you set max size 0, the message isn't shown.

Increase a file No. manually

When you check this option, "Save As" is shown on the file menu. It saves as another file increasing file no. only when you select this.

Embed a thumbnail

It specifies whether to store a thumbnail in a saved .mqo file or not. The embedded thumbnail is displayed in a file browser, and the display is faster than a file without a thumbnail. But a file size becomes large.

Scaling for loading old version of MQO files

It specifies a scaling factor for loading a .mqo file saved in Ver3.1 or older versions.

Fit views on loading file

It specifies whether to fit a view to the loaded objects automatically when a file except .mqo/.mqoz is loaded.

Size on importing file

When files are imported, you can scale up or down on objects. This item selects the action.

Drag and drop from explorer

It selects which operation to carry out when a file is dragged and dropped from Explorer.

Relate File

It selects whether to start up Metasequoia when you open the file of the form selected in Explorer with double click.

System

CPU

It sets a number of using CPU cores for parallel processing. All CPU cores are used when 0 is specified.

Undo

It sets up about [Menu > Edit > Undo].

Max Undo

It selects the maximum number of times of Undo. When you put very large numbers, the total processing speed becomes slightly slow.

Max memory (MB)

It sets available memory for undo. When you put very large numbers, the total processing speed becomes slightly slow.

Update

It automatically checks if the latest version exists. Your PC must be connected to the internet to check this. You can also set the interval between checks.

Show hidden messages again

Show messages hidden by [Do not show this message again] again.

Mouse

Action of button

Preset

You can select the setting of the actions of the mouse button from presets.

Customize of buttons

Set each action of the following. On 3D view, to click mouse right-button or middle-button, or left-click with pressing right-button, and click with Alt, Shift, Ctrl key.

Inverse direction of zoom, dolly

It selects whether to inverse the direction of zoom or dolly with dragging the mouse.

Inverse wheel

It selects whether to inverse the direction of rotation of a wheel.

Wheel Speed

It selects with how much magnification it is zoomed in one rotation of a wheel.

Figure of cursor

arrow

It always shows the normal arrow cursor.

command

It shows an icon under the lower right of a cursor according to the currently selected command.

cross

It always shows a cross cursor.

Edit controls

Auto focus on edit controls

It selects whether to automatically focus on the edit space of characters and figures when the mouse cursor moves there.

Pen / Touch

Pen sensitivity

It adjusts the sensitivity of a pen operation for a tablet PC with Windows 8 or later versions. It does not affect WinTab tablet. The zone at the right side is available for testing the sensitivity.

Detect a touched area

It treats a touched area of a finger operation as a pen pressure for a tablet PC with Windows 8 or later version. A tablet PC must support the detection of a touched area.

Touch sensitivity

It adjusts the sensitivity of a touch operation for a tablet PC with Windows 8 or later versions. The zone at the right side is available for testing the sensitivity.

Edit

Select

It sets up the operation on [Select] command and other selections.

Reflect EDIT-OPTION to [Edit] of menu

It selects whether to make commands [Edit] category of menu apply for edit option. If you check this, for example, only vertices are selected and faces are not when you select [Select All] without [face] option.

Unselect all when nothing is clicked

It selects whether to remove all selections when you click the part other than vertices, lines and faces.

Highlight on mouse over

It selects whether to highlight vertices, lines and faces with a different color from normal color when the mouse cursor moves there.

Change the colors of lines in selected faces

It selects whether to change the color of lines surrounding a face or the color of a face itself when you select a face.

Highlight lines surrounding faces

It selects whether to highlight lines surrounding a face or to highlight a face itself when the mouse cursor moves on it.

Distance to select

It sets up how far vertices and lines can be clicked and selected from the currently selected point.
If the screen resolution is high, increasing the value will make it easier to operate.

Max distance of symmetry

[symmetry] It sets up how far a pair of symmetrical vertices can be distant from the other when edit option is available.

Move non-symmetry vertex

It selects how to move a vertex without a pair of vertices for symmetric editing. A vertex is moved freely when [Normal] is specified, and it is moved to X=0 and is fixed when [Fix X=0].

Plane of world coordinate

It selects along which face move operation is done in world edit mode.

Handle

Shape of rotation handle

It selects the shape of handle in [rotate] command. There are two types of "3-direction arrow" and "ring".

Size of handle

It selects the size of a handle.

Show a value while editing

It specifies whether a value is shown or not while editing in [Move] command and so on.

Input a value on a handle

It specifies whether an input box is shown or not when a handle is clicked.

Toggle X/Y/Z or Pt/Ln/Fc buttons by right-click

It specifies whether to toggle X/Y/Z or Pt/Ln/Fc buttons in the Edit Option or View Header by right-clicking.

View

View

Rotation action

It selects the operation for a rotation of the view. There are two types of "Potter's wheel" and "Trackball".

Rotate 360 degrees along pitch

The rotation of the viewpoint cannot be limited to an up-and-down of 180 degrees and becomes to rotate 360 degrees unrestrictedly when you check this.

Speed

It sets up the speed of rotation of the viewpoint. It rotates faster as numerical value increases.

Center of rotation

It sets up where to put the center of rotation of the viewpoint. The viewpoint rotates around the point selected in [Set center of rotation] in [Fix], the center of the selected part in [Selected part], and the center of the screen in [Center of screen].

View icon

Zoom Icon

It specifies the action when dragging a zoom icon. Zoom or Dolly can be specified.

Keyboard

Customize shortcut keys

It selects which function can be called with the specified key.

Reset customized key to default if you click [Reset all key]. The default key setting can be checked in the list of shortcut keys.

Default

Current page only

Reset customized items to default in the current setting page.

All pages

Reset all items to default in [Configuration].

Clear all settings

Reset all of the settings (Including other than Configuration, ex: command, panel setting, etc.) to default.
*After clearing all, you have to reboot Metasequoia.
